Busy Week

So this past week has been crazy! Last weekend my parents came from Boise and we were able to go to the afternoon session of the LDS General Conference. It is so great to be able to go see conference live instead of watching it from the TV. It was a wonderful session. My parents left on Sunday because they got word that my Grandpa Lewis isn’t doing so well. I took Eli in to the Dr. on Monday for his 18 month check up and found out he had ear infections. They did still give him his shots and some antibiotics. Yay family getting healthy again, so I thought. My sister and her boyfriend came on Tuesday night to come and visit my Grandpa, who my parents had brought down to Salt Lake to stay in an assisted living home. So thinking my boys needed something fun to do while the weather was still warm, I took them to Utah’s Hogle Zoo. My friend and her two boys came, and also my sister and her boyfriend. It was so much fun. The perfect day. We were there for about 4 hours. Eli had an absolute blast. He walked around the WHOLE time. He didn’t want to be held and he didn’t want to go in the stroller. He actually attached himself to my friend’s 7 year old boy and wouldn’t leave his side. My friend’s son absolutely loved it. My boys had so much fun looking at all the animals and finally being out of the house. I think I need to remember to take them to the zoo twice a year. I don’t want the novelty of the zoo to wear off. Jackson was funny at the zoo. He wanted to be in the stroller the whole time and was completely attached to me, which was a switch. Usually Eli won’t let me go. However, the zoo was a blast.

After the zoo all of us excluding my friend’s family, went to visit my grandpa and my parents who were at the assisted living home. Spent some time with family. Then I brought the boys home, and went back to visit my grandpa with my sister and her boyfriend. There was a lot of family there earlier and we were hoping for some more private time with my grandpa. I ended up spending about 45 minutes with my grandpa while my sister took my uncle out to dinner. It was so great to be there with him. We laid in bed watching the Jazz game. He spent the whole time talking to me, and I will cherish the memories forever.

Thursday, said good bye to my sister and her boyfriend, and Friday went back to visit my grandpa, and I was able to have a girls night that night. My friends and I went to dinner, and saw the movie Sydney White. It is pretty funny and I needed a comedy. Today we woke up and Paul had the flu. Will it never end? I don’t know. But it sure makes for some interesting times. My boys sure miss their daddy when he isn’t feeling good. They love their time with him.

Well that was my week in a nutshell. Hopefully next week will be a little less busy. And hopefully everyone will be feeling well including my grandpa.
