Taking a Walk and Learning to Walk
The weather here in Utah has been crazy. One day it is warm enough to go jogging and 24 hours later it is snowing. Paul and I took the kids for a short walk a few days ago to enjoy the nice weather. It was great to get out of the house and to enjoy some fresh air. It is easy to go stir crazy during the winter time, and taking the boys to the store can get old really quick. They really enjoy being able to run, and play, and be boys. We are so excited for spring and summer.
Here are some cute pictures of us on our family walk. Jackson insisted that he had to bring his push toy along. He wanted to push something just like his daddy, who was pushing Eli in the stroller.
This past week Eli is really starting to want to walk. He is getting up the courage to try to walk from piece of furniture to piece of furniture without holding on. He is taking about 6 steps now. The only problem is that he gets so excited that he is walking that he tries to walk really fast and completely loses his balance. I do think he is going to be completely walking on his own by the end of February. He has great incentive, to chase his brother. Jackson however, isn’t enjoying this new found freedom of Eli’s. He is starting to enter the terrible twos with quite a few temper tantrums. He seems to throw them a lot whenever Eli gets close by him. I think Jackson is starting to feel threatened that Eli wants to play with his toys now. However, I had no idea he could throw tantrums that way. He sure changed overnight. Oh well, hopefully he will grow out of it soon while I still have my hearing, and sanity!
